Excalibur Programs
AIMS Intervention/Dropout Prevention Program - Eleventh and twelfth graders will also benefit from the new Career Exploration Opportunities program funded through a state AIMS Remediation/Drop-Out Prevention Grant. Each student in this program will work with Excalibur’s Guidance Counselor to develop a Personal Learning Plan integrating personal and academic achievement goals, workforce skills, career portfolios, aptitude inventories, secondary plans, and post secondary plans. Students who fall behind will be offered tutoring, remediation, mentoring, after school programs, and summer school opportunities.
Dual Enrollment Opportunities - Get a jump on college by taking college classes at Central Arizona College in our dual enrollment program. We provide scholarship to qualified students.
A+ Computer Training - A+ workshops prepare students to successfully complete the A+ certification exam for skills required of an entry-level computer technician. Students receive instruction and hands-on practice working with computer hardware and software by popular vendors. The A+ program emphasizes the installation, maintenance and trouble-shooting of computer systems.
Students must be familiar with the basic functioning of a computer (creating, saving, and managing files) and operating system. Some familiarity with computer hardware (disk drives, memory modules, CD drives) will aid success.
The certification content continues to validate important knowledge and skills necessary to competently install, build, configure, upgrade, troubleshoot and repair personal compatible hardware and PC operating systems, including troubleshooting basic network and Internet connectivity, dial-up, DSL, and cable. This course will also cover the latest memory, bus, peripherals, operating systems (Windows 2000 and XP) and wireless technologies.
